Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Weeping Hydrant by Mark Handforth was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 48,051.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Handforth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bent Pipe, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 149,659.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Weeping Hydrant von Mark Handforth kam im Februar 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 48.051,62) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Handforth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bent Pipe beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 198.000,00 (€ 149.659,86) versteigert wurde.
