Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Black Hole by Mark Handforth was sold in the First Open auction at Christies in New York in September 2015. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,794.84) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Handforth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bent Pipe, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 149,659.86).

Die Arbeit Black Hole von Mark Handforth wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion First Open bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.794,84) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Handforth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bent Pipe beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 198.000,00 (€ 149.659,86) versteigert wurde.
