Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included this untitled work by Mark Bradford. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,220.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Bradford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Helter Skelter I in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 8,671,500.00 (€ 9,872,981.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Bradford zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.220,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Bradford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Helter Skelter I im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.671.500,00 (€ 9.872.981,37).
