Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Room Service by Maria Farrar was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,037.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maria Farrar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wave in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,161.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Room Service von Maria Farrar wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.037,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maria Farrar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wave im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.161,29).
