This artwork by Maria Farrar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in December 2021. In the New Now auction, the work Sailor sold for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 42,081.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maria Farrar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wave, which sold at auction in October 2020 for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,161.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maria Farrar erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Sailor für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 42.081,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Maria Farrar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wave beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.161,29) versteigert wurde.
