The work Sailor by Maria Farrar was worth HKD 882,000.00 (€ 95,808.07) to a buyer in June 2021. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips at POLY in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Maria Farrar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Wave sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,161.29).
