Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Sailor by Maria Farrar was worth HKD 882,000.00 (€ 95,808.07) to a buyer in June 2021. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips at POLY in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Maria Farrar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Wave sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,161.29).

Die Arbeit Sailor von Maria Farrar war einem Käufer im Juni 2021 HKD 882.000,00 (€ 95.808,07) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips bei POLY in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Maria Farrar; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Wave im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.161,29).
