This artwork by Margaret Kilgallen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2012. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work without title sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,451.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Kilgallen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Salt, Sweet, Ch, Wheet) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 447,000.00 (€ 400,932.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Margaret Kilgallen erzielte im November 2012 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.451,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Kilgallen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Salt, Sweet, Ch, Wheet) im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 447.000,00 (€ 400.932,82).
