This artwork by Makiko Kudo achieved an unexpectedly high price at VAN HAM in June last year. In the From a Universal Collector – The Olbricht Collection | Being Human auction, the work "We live in the Milky Way". sold for EUR 15,840.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Makiko Kudo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Floating Island sold at auction in August 2020 with the realized price of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,414.29).
