The work Blood Vessel by Makiko Kudo was sold in the Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,600.00 (€ 8,212.12), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makiko Kudo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floating Island, which sold at auction in August 2020 for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,414.29).

Die Arbeit Blood Vessel von Makiko Kudo wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.600,00 (€ 8.212,12) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Makiko Kudo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Floating Island beobachtet, die im August 2020 für GBP 22.680,00 (€ 25.414,29) versteigert wurde.
