This artwork by Makiko Kudo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in August 2020. In the Contemporary Art| London auction, the work Floating Island sold for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,414.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. This high result makes Floating Island the most expensive artwork by Makiko Kudo that we have observed at auctions so far.
