Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Fen-Ma Liuming Walks the Great Wall by Ma Liuming for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87). This price was achieved in the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ma Liuming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baby No. 7 in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 90,399.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fen-Ma Liuming Walks the Great Wall von Ma Liuming für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.438,87) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ma Liuming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Baby No. 7 im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 90.399,75).
