A top price for Ma Liuming
When the work Baby No. 7 by Ma Liuming was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2006, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 300,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 900,000.00 (€ 90,399.75). This high result makes Baby No. 7 the most expensive artwork by Ma Liuming that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Ma Liuming
Als die Arbeit Baby No. 7 von Ma Liuming im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 300.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 900.000,00 (€ 90.399,75) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Baby No. 7 zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Ma Liuming, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
