Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled No. 20 by Ma Liuming for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,948.24). This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ma Liuming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baby No. 7 in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 90,399.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled No. 20 von Ma Liuming für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 4.948,24) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ma Liuming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Baby No. 7 im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 90.399,75).
