In April 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Fen-Ma Liuming Walks The Great Wall by Ma Liuming. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 150,000.00 (€ 13,950.97), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ma Liuming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baby No. 7 in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 90,399.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fen-Ma Liuming Walks The Great Wall von Ma Liuming zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 13.950,97) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ma Liuming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baby No. 7 im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 90.399,75).
