Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Desenho I) by Lygia Pape was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in New York in November 2016. The price achieved of USD 187,500.00 (€ 177,254.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lygia Pape - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day), which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 430,000.00 (€ 382,698.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Desenho I) von Lygia Pape wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 177.254,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lygia Pape mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day) beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 430.000,00 (€ 382.698,47) versteigert wurde.
