A top price for Lygia Pape - as previously expected
In May 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day) by Lygia Pape. The price achieved of USD 430,000.00 (€ 382,698.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day) is the most expensive artwork by Lygia Pape that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day) von Lygia Pape zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 430.000,00 (€ 382.698,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lygia Pape, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
