In November 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Escultura) by Lygia Pape. The »bidding war« ended at USD 324,500.00 (€ 306,768.77), 30% above the upper estimate. Other works by Lygia Pape have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 430,000.00 (€ 382,698.47) in May 2017 for the work Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day).
