Auction result well in line with expectations

In June 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Stairs by Lowell Nesbitt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,282.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lowell Nesbitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Electric Daffodil in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juni 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stairs von Lowell Nesbitt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.282,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lowell Nesbitt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Electric Daffodil im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82).
