Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Prince K: Two States by Louis Legrand was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,125.00 (€ 1,065.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Legrand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danseuses Saluant in June 2016 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.
