Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lesley Dill achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2016. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Back sold for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,403.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lesley Dill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Clothe my Naked Body, Poem Wedding Dress, which sold at auction in July 2014 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,534.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lesley Dill erzielte im April 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Back für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.403,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lesley Dill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Clothe my Naked Body, Poem Wedding Dress beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.534,73) versteigert wurde.
