Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work I See Visions by Lesley Dill was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 335.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lesley Dill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothe my Naked Body, Poem Wedding Dress in July 2014 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,534.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit I See Visions von Lesley Dill im Juli 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 335,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lesley Dill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothe my Naked Body, Poem Wedding Dress im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.534,73).
