Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Embrace, from The Superlative U.S. Olympic Editions by Lee Krasner was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 704.00 (€ 644.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Krasner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eye Is The First Circle in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 11,654,000.00 (€ 10,452,955.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Embrace, from The Superlative U.S.
