In May this year Christies in New York held the auction A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II, which included this untitled work by Lee Krasner. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,197,000.00 (€ 1,123,521.68), 71% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lee Krasner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Eye Is The First Circle in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 11,654,000.00 (€ 10,452,955.42).

Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lee Krasner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.197.000,00 (€ 1.123.521,68) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lee Krasner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Eye Is The First Circle im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.654.000,00 (€ 10.452.955,42).
