Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Untitled, from National Collection Fine Arts Portfolio by Lee Bontecou. The price achieved of USD 1,785.00 (€ 1,675.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Bontecou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May this year with an auction result of USD 8,690,000.00 (€ 8,156,560.92).
