Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February this year Bonhams held the auction Prints & Multiples | Live OnlineAbstractions, which included the work Seventh Stone by Lee Bontecou. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,645.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Bontecou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May this year with an auction result of USD 8,690,000.00 (€ 8,156,560.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints & Multiples | Live OnlineAbstractions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seventh Stone von Lee Bontecou zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.645,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Bontecou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.690.000,00 (€ 8.156.560,92).
