Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tambour 62' by Latifa Echakhch was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in New York in May 2017. The price achieved of USD 93,750.00 (€ 83,437.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Latifa Echakhch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sitting on Haunches Behind the Bushes Until There is No Longer Any Noise and Breathing Slowly. Then Stand Up and Walk Away, which sold at auction in December 2015 for GBP 134,500.00 (€ 182,644.53).
