In December 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings, which included the work A view of the Bay of Naples; and Fishing on the Bay of Naples by Gioacchino La Pira. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,750.00 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gioacchino La Pira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bay of Naples; and Vesuvius erupting, which sold at auction in April 2001 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,259.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion European Noble and Private Collections incl. Fine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of the Bay of Naples; and Fishing on the Bay of Naples von Gioacchino La Pira zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.750,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gioacchino La Pira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bay of Naples; and Vesuvius erupting beobachtet, die im April 2001 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.259,73) versteigert wurde.
