Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishing off Capri in the mist; and Fishing before Ischia by Gioacchino La Pira was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2012. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,223.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gioacchino La Pira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bay of Naples; and Vesuvius erupting, which sold at auction in April 2001 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,259.73).

Die Arbeit Fishing off Capri in the mist; and Fishing before Ischia von Gioacchino La Pira kam im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.223,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gioacchino La Pira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bay of Naples; and Vesuvius erupting beobachtet, die im April 2001 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.259,73) versteigert wurde.
