In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Maus (Mouse) by Katharina Fritsch. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,410.00 (€ 4,439.30), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katharina Fritsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Geist und Blutlache in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 159,200.00 (€ 234,771.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maus (Mouse) von Katharina Fritsch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 4.439,30) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katharina Fritsch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Geist und Blutlache im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 159.200,00 (€ 234.771,89).
