Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paper Bedroom by Kate Shepherd was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 350.00 (€ 249.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kate Shepherd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Light Blue And Espresso, Chalkboard And Map, Dropped Ceiling in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,390.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paper Bedroom von Kate Shepherd im Juni 2009 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 350,00 (€ 249,64) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kate Shepherd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Light Blue And Espresso, Chalkboard And Map, Dropped Ceiling im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.390,79).
