Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September last year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work It's Not a Crack That's Just the Way I Part My Hair by Karl Wirsum. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,710.00 (€ 10,947.56). Admittedly, works by Karl Wirsum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Standing Figure in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 104,738.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit It's Not a Crack That's Just the Way I Part My Hair von Karl Wirsum zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.710,00 (€ 10.947,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karl Wirsum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Standing Figure im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 104.738,85).
