Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tg #18 by Karl Stanley Benjamin was sold in the Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. The price achieved of USD 28,125.00 (€ 22,271.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Stanley Benjamin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yellow Landscape, 1953, which sold at auction in April last year for USD 68,415.00 (€ 64,928.35).

Die Arbeit Tg #18 von Karl Stanley Benjamin wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 22.271,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Stanley Benjamin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Yellow Landscape, 1953 beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für USD 68.415,00 (€ 64.928,35) versteigert wurde.
