In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work FS #10 by Karl Stanley Benjamin. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,853.47) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Karl Stanley Benjamin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yellow Landscape, 1953 in April last year with an auction result of USD 68,415.00 (€ 64,928.35).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit FS #10 von Karl Stanley Benjamin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.853,47) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karl Stanley Benjamin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yellow Landscape, 1953 im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.415,00 (€ 64.928,35).
