Auction result well in line with expectations
The work As long as its truth and purity remain inviolate and no blasphemous rationality dares approach its sacred confines (Guilelessly open and deeply hidden) by Justin Matherly was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,637.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin Matherly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work All excellent things are as difficult as they are rare (Champion sound), which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,129.60).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.637,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
