This artwork by Jon Schueler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2014. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Red Sky sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,783.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jon Schueler; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Red Sky, Red Sea sold at auction in July 2019 with the realized price of USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,092.54).
