The work Dream of Unicorns (Aus: 11 Pop Artists, Volume III). by John Wesley was sold in the Made in America | ONLINE ONLY auction at VAN HAM in March this year. The price achieved of EUR 1,320.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wesley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plague in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 577,000.00 (€ 370,822.62).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.320,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wesley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plague im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 577.000,00 (€ 370.822,62).
