Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Study of a young woman with her hands clasped; and a further subsidiary drawing of the hands and chin by John Melhuish Strudwick for GBP 475.00 (€ 577.64). This price was achieved in the auction The Nicolette Wernick Collection British Watercolours and Paintings (1800-1950) at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melhuish Strudwick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Study of a young woman with her hands clasped; and a further subsidiary drawing of the hands and chin von John Melhuish Strudwick für GBP 475,00 (€ 577,64) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 509.250,00 (€ 731.035,91).
