Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Ten Virgins by John Melhuish Strudwick was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015. The price achieved of GBP 305,000.00 (€ 414,175.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Other works by John Melhuish Strudwick have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2003 the work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley was auctioned for GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91).
