Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including an Important Collection of Sculpture, which included the work British study For The Central Figure Of Passing Days by John Melhuish Strudwick. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,956.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melhuish Strudwick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 509.250,00 (€ 731.035,91).
