In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from, which included the work Study for an angel in a green dress by John Melhuish Strudwick. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,268.44), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melhuish Strudwick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91).

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 509.250,00 (€ 731.035,91).
