Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Isabella by John Melhuish Strudwick was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 121,169.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Melhuish Strudwick have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Isabella von John Melhuish Strudwick kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 121.169,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Melhuish Strudwick auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 509.250,00 (€ 731.035,91).
