Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Study For A Figure In When Sorrow Comes In Summer Roses Bloom In Vain by John Melhuish Strudwick for GBP 352.50 (€ 585.57). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS,DRAWINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melhuish Strudwick achieve.
