Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Melhuish Strudwick could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH & CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS,DRAWINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS auction, the work A Study Of A Draped Figure, Thought To Be A Study For Elaine changed hands for GBP 352.50 (€ 585.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melhuish Strudwick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 509,250.00 (€ 731,035.91).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Thy Music, faintly falling, dies away, Thy dear eyes dream that Love will live for aye' G.F. Bodley im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 509.250,00 (€ 731.035,91).
