Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by John Grillo was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,712.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Grillo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Grillo wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.712,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Grillo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58).
