Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Seated Brunette by John De Andrea. The price achieved of USD 50,190.00 (€ 40,420.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 45,000.00 – 55,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John De Andrea - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sitting Woman, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 146,500.00 (€ 101,905.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seated Brunette von John De Andrea zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.190,00 (€ 40.420,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 45.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John De Andrea mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sitting Woman beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für USD 146.500,00 (€ 101.905,95) versteigert wurde.
