This artwork by John Callow achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2008. In the Maritime auction, the work Towing in the derelict sold for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,544.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Callow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,590.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Callow erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Maritime wurde die Arbeit Towing in the derelict für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.544,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Callow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.590,45).
