Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fisherman's huts on a beach, Sark; and A pier, Sark by John Callow was sold in the Out of Office: Art that Transports auction at Christies in London in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,028.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Callow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,590.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fisherman's huts on a beach, Sark; and A pier, Sark von John Callow wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Out of Office: Art that Transports bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.028,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Callow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.590,45).
