Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,013.33). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Callow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,590.45).

Die Arbeit A Ship In A Harbour With Rowing Boats And Yachts, A Coastal Town And Fortress Beyond von John Callow wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion British Art on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.400,00 (€ 8.013,33) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Callow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.590,45) versteigert wurde.
