Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work Shipping in a stiff breeze in the Channel by John Callow. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,566.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Callow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,590.45).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping in a stiff breeze in the Channel von John Callow zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.566,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
