Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joep van Lieshout could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Orange Bathtub changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,687.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joep van Lieshout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bureau 'K4121', 1991, which sold at auction in April 2006 for EUR 10,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joep van Lieshout konnte im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Orange Bathtub für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.687,27) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joep van Lieshout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bureau 'K4121', 1991 beobachtet, die im April 2006 für EUR 10.200,00 versteigert wurde.
